Rotfront releases debut album

Yes! I have been expecting an album release from Berlin based Rotfront for a very long time, ever since I first encountered the amazing russian-german-ska hit “Brlin style”. So, it’s officialy here, titled “Emigrantski Raggamuffin” available on Amazon, 17 rocking hopping tracks that employ 55:20 minutes.

A bit of background: Rotfront is a ska band that fuses the jamaican rhythm with German and Russian lyrics and a lot of east european influences like klezmer and balalaika. The band’s frontman is Yuriy Gurzhy, half of the Russendisko crew that’s been shaking dance floors at the Kaffee Burger in Berlin, Ukrainian style, for over 6 years.

I’ll play two new songs off the album tonight at the radio show, you can expect more on the next shows since it’s full of gems that got me hooked on first listen.
